Cosmic Campers - Marang Terengganu
Cosmic Campers is located in Kampung Pasir Puteh in the town of Marang g, in Terengganu, facing the South China Sea that holds ⅓ of the entire world’s marine biodiversity and is home to the longest coastlines in Malaysia.
The campsite is on a plot of land owned by an biker& typical Ausie man Ivan who met & fell in love with Zaleha a Muslim Malaysian woman who was working with the Msian Embassy in Canberra in the early 70’s. and so began this mazing love story that defied racism, defied geography and kept 2 beautiful souls together till time & health permitted.. from a desert continent to the shores of the Mlaysian Peninsular.
I had he pleasure of meeting Mr Ivan just after the lockdown period and I could immediately detect his undying love for his late wife. As a tribute to her, he named the beach and the viewing deck he built, after her.
The beach will forever be known as Zally Beach while the viewing deck is known as the Zaleha Tower or Menara Zaleha in the Malaysian national language.
You know, there’s a aying.. when you die, you actually die twice.. The first time is when your physical being stops and the 2nd time is when th last person that knows you mentions your name. To have a beach and a a structure named after you out of love is so insanely beautiful as one man dared to love unconditionally. That is the definition of a real man. A Trade I’d dare say that you will never find the male human specie, these days. And tellin you this love storywill keep everything alive
Due to its location between Dungun and Kuala Terengganu, the campsite enjoys near-zero light pollution. Astronomers, stargazers, and astronomy photographers, we finally have the perfect campsite to set up your gear, observe the night skies for shooting stars & satellites and gaze into the Milky Way till sunrise. We also rent binoculars for the 1st-timers & curious stargazers.
Situated 28km from the Marang jetty & about 200km e 3hr drive from the Besut jetty, this campsite is also the perfect pit-stop, while on road trips to Kapas, Redang or the Perhentian Islands.
We have many divers that come to the campsite befor going diving at Pulau Tenggol off Dungun and also to break their long journey to the Perhentian islands.
Included amenities are showers & toilets, BBQ pits a big kitcen and dining room. We also have a swimming Pool shaded patio area with nearby showers & toilets.

Enjoy walks on the beach any time of the day and night. On a scorching day, cool down with a dip in separate swimming pools for kids and adults and stargaze the nights by the poolside or on the soft sands of the coastline.
Tents, beach mats, basic camping equipment, fly sheets & groundsheets, and binoculars are available for rent. If you have any problems during your stay, please let us know immediately so we can try and sort them out while you are here.

Use the Karak till LPT2 and exit at Dungun or Kuala Terengganu.
It would be best to book your beach-front spot (Venus) or at the covered area (Neptune).
- All payments will be made via online banking upon booking confirmation via WhatsApp, before your stay.
- Only walk-ins, upon availability, will pay at the campsite. You may pay in cash or via online banking.
- As we are on the same grounds as Duta Beach Resort, we have 4 basic air-conditioned chalets & private baths with cold showers. (Upon availability)
- We also have 2 very basic chalets with fans and private baths with cold showers. (Upon availability)

Yes you can. We have 1 solo occupancy tent and 2 tents for 3 to 4 occupancy.

However, due to the pandemic, we would strongly recommend bringing your own tents for safety and hygiene purposes.
We only charge according to headcount. You may pitch any size tent you like.

No, there is no internet access. Cosmic Campers is the perfect spot to disconnect and be yourself.
Yes. Pets are allowed as long as they are either on a leash or in a pet enclosure. Please pick up your pet’s poop.
Please boil all tap water obtained from around the campsite.
