Hi there.. I am an avid solo traveler and explorer and have been traveling the globe for the last 25 years. Between 2014 and 2019, I somehow and unexpectedly had traveled to all 7 continents, possibly becoming one of the rare Malaysians to have done the 7C’s in one valid Msian passport. My passion for space, space photography, and star gazing included chasing eclipses and meteor showers on other continents. Of course, there were some moments where my safety was compromised and there were also moments when my time wasn’t up. That’s what I do when I am not on the radio giving you traffic updates for the last 2 decades.

When the COVID 19 pandemic arrived in 2020, I decided to put all my international travels on hold… till 2024. But I still needed my playground, to fuel my love of traveling solo, camping, space photography and stargazing. And so, after having backpacked, overlanded and camped in remote areas of the globe, I decided to open a campsite.

Ironically, my 1st random stay here (of many stays) was when I came to heal in January 2005, after the 2004 Asian Tsunami that I barely survived while holidaying in Sri Lanka.

In 2020, during the monsoon we rescued some fishermen that were not doing too well in the storm, and then during the 2021 monsoon, we had a baby sperm whale that breached and didn’t survive, despite efforts by the Tganu Fisheries Department.

So, this campsite has very special moments for me and there’s no better way to share these stories, than… over a campfire, some marshmallows, and starry skies.

Looking forward to crossing paths with you at Cosmic Campers.
